Bloody Thesis

Every day when I open my eyes I have to deal with the same usual thing and every time I see this thing just makes my stomach go mad. Honestly, just the thought of it makes me go insane. This thing is what all graduate students have the same impression with, the thesis writing. I know that it's not the end of the world when we write our thesis and it's not that really hard ( according to those who have finished writing them) but... I don't know...I don't really know. I think I'm just worrying too much. Sometimes, my thesis becomes a little monster to me annoying me all the time. Ahhhhh...I just want the time to go by ...just...like...that. How I wish. Anyway, I just wrote this just to make me feel better. I need to stop writing on my blog for awhile (although writing on my blog is one way for me to get unstressed). I need to get over and done with my little monster.

Teacherlang

I met the president of Teacherlang Multimedia Education System just an hour ago and I had a nice conversation with him about the English education in Korea. Well, we didn't go into details listing all the weaknesses and strenghts of ELT in Korea but we only focused on one thing, his business. He tried to explain his product, one solution for Korean English learners to get another chance to be able to use the language. I wasn't there to criticise his work but I was happy that I was there not just a listener but also a commentor, being able to express my thoughts and feelings towards e-learning. First of all, why was I called upon by Mr. Kim? (the CEO). It's because my professor asked a favor from him to help me make my life in Korea a bit much better. Like providing an accommodation first and foremost. However, there were some misunderstandings I supposed. I wasn't really in need of any help at the moment, but I am open for any help in case I'll be needing it in the near future. Who would refuse such a good offer. These days, may Korean English teachers divert their teaching from traditional to modern English teaching such as communicative language teaching or task based language teaching and others. Moreover, many of them, take advantage of the use of technology and maximize what can be maximized for the advancement of their language teaching supplementing e-learning to their curriculum. All of these has only one goal, the ultimate purpose of every professional English teacher - the goal of improving the English language ability and skills of students at it's most effective and most efficient possible way. Marry Me, Please

A complicated story of a family each member having different situations and problems in life. Non Koreans who would watch this might not be able to understand how the story goes because it somehow shows how strong the Korean family culture is. It says that it's all about love and marriage but I think it's all about pride and respect. Everytime I'd watch this drama and see the role of the first child in the family, ugghhhh....he is just so annoying, I just can take it.

Giant

A story of love, power, greed, betrayal, trust, hatred, money and all other related emotions you could ever expect from a classic hit drama. This drama is housed by the all time favorite popular actors and actresses portraying different characters with different interests but the story just goes around from the life of one young man. It is still being on aired and because of it's unstoppable popularity I think it still has a long way to go.

Lovers

A story of two people who were once strangers to each other living in separate worlds apart. Kim Jeong Eun, a plastic surgeon who has a lot of debt, never had an experience having a boyfriend but then fell in love with a man who's in a relationship with a sweet, beautiful woman who feels lonely in the arms of her man. Lee Seo Jin, a top class gangster (huh?), never realized what love really was until he met Jeong Eun. I have watched Kim Jeong Eun playing almost the same character in her movies and dramas but this I think was the drama where she has given all her best performance. On the other hand, it was my first time to see Lee Seo Jin, actually I didn't know that he exists until I watched this drama. Now, I'm in love with him. By the way, as Kim and Lee were making this drama, they fell in love ( in reality) and became the top couplestar in Korea. Their relationship didn't last long but I am hoping they could match up again in a movie in the future.

The Queen of Housewives

This drama just made me burst out tears of joy and sorrow. As you can see there are three different housewives showing three different characters. Each character will make us women see a glimpse of ourselves as a wife (or of becoming a wife) having different expectations from one's husband. This drama has been shown in the year 2008. Again, Kim Nam Ju is the main character in this story and I guarantee you that she'd drive you nuts from watching this realistic romantic comedy drama.

Baby Jeremiah

This is my cute nephew, Jeremiah. My charming big sister's baby. He was born on October 15, 2010 and he is the first grandchild in the family. He is such a blessing. I heard that this little lad is the big boss back home. Isn't he just adorable. I haven't met him, I haven't touched him but I already love him.

Let it Snow!

This video was taken in March 2010 during the first week when I arrived in Korea as I prepare myself for school. It has been quiet awhile since in snowed that hard in Seoul so I decided to take a video of the moment. When I arrived here in March, I was actually expecting a warmer weather as I step out from Incheon airport but I was wrong. Was I wrong or was the weather wrong?

My mom hasn't seen snow in her entire life, I'm not sure with my dad since he's been to Canada some time long ago. I wanted to show to my mom how the snow really looks like but I guess taking a video of it is just exactly the same as watching the snow on TV. I want my mom to feel it, touch it and probably have a taste of it. Perhaps I should make an effort of bringing her here someday or somewhere where it snows. Oh boy...this is going to cost me a looot of money.

A Reversed Queen

This drama is currently rating as one of the best dramas ever made this year in Korea and I personally include it in my most favorite Korean drama list. I love the way Kim Nam Ju expresses herself as an actor as she portrays a career woman turned into an ordinary housewife desperate to get back to work and live a normal, financially secured life with her husband. I'm goind to finish this drama and won't fail to see all the chapters of the story before I go back to the Philippines for holidays. If I couldn't, then I might buy a CD of the whole story in my hometown.

You and I

We are so lovely! I know what love is for us. Do you know what love is for you? I describe love as how it was described in this song by Nana Mouskouri. (The Rose)

The Terminal

I just love travelling in Korea most especially in Autumn. And going to Kangnam Bus Terminal was like a routine for me. A very ordinary chore taking buses from one place to another a thousand times. The buses in Korea are so convenient and comfortable most especially the deluxe ones as long as the passengers would not hang their feet up at the back of my seat or anywhere where my eyes could see them. Thanks!

KAMALL

It was my first time to attend a conference in Korea and it was a KAMALL Conference ( The Korea Association of Multimedia-Assisted Language Learning). I and my other mates in CAU (Chung Ang University) participated in the e-Poster category. Well, honestly, it wasn't really clear for me what exactly I was supposed to do there although my professor had explained it to me as thorough as she could. Maybe, it was due to the fact that I couldn't get a clear picture of what was really expected from me, from us. Days before the conference, some were telling that I might need to prepare some powerpoint presentation or some sheets to show my project. But, I just relied on what my professor told me, and of course, my professor was always right. I asked Sunny, one research assistant, about what to wear or what to bring for that day but she just told me in a cold voice that her mind is preoccupied by her presentation and that she needed to hang the phone up. Anyway, all is well that ends well. The conference was done. The five of us kept talking to strangers for about 2 to 3 hours.I wasn't in a group, I've done my project solely so I had to talk nonstop. I was expecting that I could explain my project like how I came up with it and what were the processes that went through. But all of the people who came to scrutinize didn't had the time to listen and prefer to hear only the findings, the benefits, the effectiveness of our project which I think I have failed to answer. I wasn't really satisfied with my project and along I really want to somehow find a way to make it better and more useful. That day, after 9 months of not wearing high heels, I hardly walked myself home. Again, all is well...that ends well.

The TUBE

This is not an international airport. This is Seoul, Korea's subway line no. 9. Buckle up! ( for surprises)

A Short Walk

I was only planning to get out from my room and find some place where I can get some fresh air near my university. Unfortunately the nearest spot where I could go to was the old, small park in Yongsan which was formerly a golf course for US military base. I asked my honey to meet me in Ichon Station and take a walk with me while we whisper our hopes and dreams for each other. It was almost dark when we came there, but we had to walk a little further to reach Yongsan park. On our way there, the national museum met us. We didn't realize that it was located near the park where we were supposed to go to. The national museum was so beautiful and attractively wide surrounded by dramatic, magnificent lights. She was gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous! The night was a bit chilly and quiet and I could only see two or three people visiting the place except for some cynical looking guards. It was a perfect night for couples and I certainly got what I wanted. A breathe of fresh autumn air.
