A Beautiful Stranger

I'm so glad that there are still people who are kind to other people although they are strangers to them. It's never easy to ask someone who lives in a busy, stressful world to give you a hand on something. But tonight, a small deed coming from just one ordinary person has proven itself once again that it can really change one's perception on the entire country. One fine lady was very willing to take a picture of us. She said, " Please have a look if you like your picture. If you want, I can still take another picture of you...Is it okay?". Her words just melted my iced-cold heart as we say thank you to her. The picture wasn't just beautifully taken, but it was also taken by a beautiful person.

No Honey, No Coffee!

This late afternoon, my honey and I wanted something different for a change. We both didn't feel good so we decided to get ourselves out from our shell but we didn't want to go somewhere too far so we ended up going to our favourite cozy coffee shop. We normally get ourselves a cup of americano but this time, just for fun, we just tried wasting our precious money on two cups of bloody sweet 6 dollarish latte each having different flavours. This is not about the honey, this is about 'my' honey. Going out was never fun for me without my honey. I'm just so glad that my honey's always there beside me. By the way, we got our card all stamped, next time we'll have a free cup of coffee!

Manny Pacquiao is a Filipino but Filipinos ain't a Manny Pacquiao

"Manny Pacquiao is a Filipino but Filipinos ain't a Manny Pacquio."

Before you read what I've written here, please take some time reading what I've linked above.
After reading the above article, I've realised that I have the same feeling, the same attitude with the author all along. I remember asking my dad why Manny is that strong, what does he eat to be strong and then my dad replied, "In his region, they eat corn not rice." I wasn't sure if my dad was just joking that time but I was seriously curious when I asked that question. Manny had a perfect trainer and a perfect environment to become a champion. Anybody can be a champion like him if one had the same conditions like he had. And definitely, it's not because of his nationality that made him the best boxer of all time. It's all about hard work and good environment plus perfect timing perhaps. Let's not be proud of somebody just because one has the same blood as ours but because of one's perseverance and hard work.

Last Scandal

Remember Choi Jin Sil? Yes, one of the legendary stars of Korea. She became most popular because of the drama 'Rose Life'. I didn't had the chance to watch that drama and I think I won't have any plan of watching it in the future because of I've already known the story due to it's great popularity. When I heard that she has made another drama, the Last Scandal, I waited for it until a complete copy of CD came out. In this story, again Jin Sil plays a role of a housewife who turns out to be a maid in a house of a famous star. Coincidentally, the famous star was her former boyfriend, her first love in highschool who was still in love with her and was looking for her all along.
Sadly and shockingly, this Last Scandal became the last drama ever made by Choi Jin Sil until she committed suicide. Nobody knew exactly the reason behind her tragic death, but most of her fans presume that it was because of great depression.

My Man's Woman

I've watched this drama some time in the year 2007. That year was the start of myself buying Korean CDs in a small Korean owned DVD shop somewhere back home. I was watching this drama in Korea until I had to go back to the Philippines. I forgot all about the drama when I went back home but incidentally, I saw this CD in the DVD shop and so I bought it and watched it with my mom. This drama is all about an illicit relationship, which is normally shown in most Korean dramas. However, the lustful, greedy affair had all gone by the wind until the other woman got tired of trying to understand her man. In this drama, there were no losers and there were no winners either. In the end, the hero and the heroines all lived separate lives.
